Monthly Mood board- Midnight Moon

“Their wedding night was in all truth a thing of beauty: the splendour of the celebrations, the hushed intimacy of a private walk under the cryptic light of a large moon, the unexpected delight discovered in the reflection of a candle’s flicker in a decanter of aged wine…” Robert Coover

We have so many excited discussions in-house between our styling and catering teams- chasing the ideas that inspire us as caterers and as stylists, so we have decided to share these with you in a monthly mood board.

This month, in keeping with the trends of this season let us create a magical celestial celebration for you. Imagine an evening under the gaze of a full moon, a celestial installation of twinkling lights and candlelight, music and laughter intertwine, good food, fine wine and loved ones.

This look is all about the details, the weight of things, the colour, the touch. Make carefully considered choices.

The vibes flow from a palette of midnight hues; plums, rose, inky blue, smoke and pewter. Worn dark wood with layers of silk and linen, mingle with faded gilt, old silver and cut crystal.

Lighting is your foundation stone to creating a dreamlike setting, a veil of twinkling lights echoes the night sky, anchored by the tangible flames of the candles below.

Invitations and menus letterpress printed on heavy cotton washed with silvery ink. Sincere and precious.

Furniture in dark woods, offset by velvet and linen cushions. Exotic floral arrangements of trailing greenery embroidered with scented blown roses, wisteria, magnolia, orchids and berries reminiscent of an overgrown enchanted garden.

The table a mix of tapered beeswax candles on silver candlesticks, dark earthy plates, heavy silver cutlery, pewter, cut crystal glassware and gauzy linen napery. A shared feast.
